ABOUT ALEX

Hi, I’m Alex, a Movement Teacher based in Singapore and co-founder of Out of the Common (OOTC).
With over 20 years in the fitness industry, I’ve seen it all: from coaching in traditional gyms, to co-founding UFIT and founding Level Singapore - both leaders in the strength and conditioning space. Those experiences shaped me as a coach, but they also revealed the limits of the traditional gym model. Strength and conditioning builds fitness, but it doesn’t always deliver long-term health, resilience, or freedom of movement.
That realization led me to step into the world of Movement Culture in 2020. At OOTC, my work focuses on helping adults, especially those over 40, reclaim their mobility, coordination, and play. My approach blends strength training, mobility systems, and progressive practices like groundwork, locomotion, and soft acrobatics, designed to build longevity and adaptability.

My Teaching Style
Practical. Challenging. Playful.
I believe in sessions that switch you on, not tune you out. Expect hands-on coaching, detail-oriented progressions, and lessons that stretch both body and mind.

Who I Work With
I specialize in working with curious, motivated adults who want more than just treadmills and weights. Many of my clients are professionals and individuals over 40 who want to stay active, capable, and playful well into later life.

What You’ll Take Away
I want every student to leave feeling that their body is capable of more than they imagined. My mission is to empower you with movement practices that are sustainable, intelligent, and deeply rewarding.
